Skin Cancer?

Postby raynard41 » Fri Apr 21, 2017 1:36 am

I'm not sure exactly what it is, but if it is skin cancer, it's pretty important that I know.
I already poked around the internet looking for pictures, but none that I found looked similar.

It's a small (dime sized) discoloration (lighter than the rest of the skin) on my neck, and a sort of darker ring around it.
In the center is a pinkish dot.

At first I thought it was a bug bite...but it's been there for two months.

Any ideas?

Do you live in an area with ticks? A pink dot with a ring around it is a sign of Lyme disease. Seriously check it out with a doctor if you may have been bitten by a deer tick.

By the way, I've had numerous skin cancers and what you're describing sounds nothing like skin cancer.

Skin Cancer?

Well..................I never ever say this.......... but I would go see a doctor, as if it is skin cancer, and I am not saying it is, or isn't, but doctors can treat it if caught early. If you are in the UK then pop down to your local GP, they will be able to tell, usually using a ABDC rule, which stands for asymmetry, border, colour, and diameter.

Asymmetry

The two halves of your mole do not look the same.

Border

The edges of your mole are irregular, blurred or jagged.

Diameter - many melanomas are at least 6mm in diameter, the size of a pencil eraser

Colour

The colour of your mole is uneven, with more than one shade.

If it is suspicioius then you will be tranferred to a hospital specialist, usually withing 2 weeks in the UK.

Hope that helps

It's doctor time.

Don't mess around with stuff like that.

I agree that it could be a tick bite.
The doc needs to see it.

Here's some pics of tickbites for comparison: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/im...
