Always had normal TSH levels. I've had thyroid nodules for 5 years. I started off with 12 nodules and NONE of them were over a cm. They were all very small. For 2 years, they stayed the exact same (didn't get bigger and didn't shrink) so I started going back every year instead of every 6 months. For the past 2 years, they started shrinking in size without any medication or anything so I only had 6 nodules. Today I went back and found out that 4 of them shrunk, 1 of them is gone, but one of them GREW. I've never had a nodule grow. It is now 8mm. She did not seem concerned because she said it was fluid filled but I have to go back in 6 months now. I am so incredibly worried now. I thought it wasn't normal for benign nodules to grow? If she thought it could be cancer, wouldn't I get a biopsy done now? She said they wait for it to reach 10mm or 1 cm but 8mm is pretty close and 6 months seems like a long time to wait.
